About Siana

Hello, I'm Siana (pronounced Shauna).  I'm a Circle Facilitator and Psychotherapist based in Carrickfergus.

I work with adults through therapeutic circles and support spaces designed for deep connection, self-reflection, and belonging… particularly for people who don’t often feel seen in more traditional spaces.

A bit about me

I am

- a white cisgender woman

- neurodivergent

- mum to a teenager

- cat mum of two

- a lover of books and learning

- a miniature dollshouse enthusiast

My Story

I moved back to Carrickfergus in 2020, just before the pandemic. Although it’s the town I grew up in, I had been away for 25 years, so returning as an adult has meant starting over and building a new community from scratch.

This move marked a significant transition in my life, both personally and professionally as I reached middle age. Around 2017, I left Christianity after years of questioning. It was a slow but deep shift in identity, values, and worldview. That same period also saw me leaving employment in large counselling organisations to launch my private therapy practice - a step that gave me the freedom to specialise and work in more creative, spacious ways.

Over the past decade, I’ve been on a journey of discovering and embracing my neurodivergence. I first resonated with the term “highly sensitive” in my early 20s, began to suspect I might be autistic in 2016–17, and had a formal assessment in 2018.  I've also been "peer reviewed" as ADHD multiple times!  If the words autism or ADHD bring up concern or discomfort, I gently encourage you to explore the Neurodiversity page on this website for context.

In this new phase of life, I’ve been exploring:

  • Deconstructing past identities and inherited systems

  • Reclaiming my creativity and neurodivergent strengths

  • Reconnecting with my roots and lineage - both personal ancestry and land-based history and heritage

  • Engaging with privilege and internalised systems: including ableism, colonisation, and heteronormativity

These aren’t just intellectual interests. They’re deeply personal processes that have helped me heal, grow, and reimagine the ways I want to connect… with myself, with others, and with the world around me.

Through all of this, I’ve come to believe that authentic connection is a human need and that we don’t get enough of it in most of our lives. That’s why I’ve begun holding facilitated support circles for neurodivergent adults, parents, and others who long for a more spacious, relational way of being together.

I don’t see myself as a “leader”, I’m a quiet person by nature. But I do believe in the power of openhearted community, mutual witnessing, and holding space for one another.

Reconnection, Roots and Returning to Self

Why Circles?

A few final words

I turned 50 in 2025.  I’ve lived and learned a lot, and still have plenty of growing to do.

I do know some things about presence and I let go of striving to be perfect a long time ago.

Sometimes, willingness and humility are what it takes to spark something meaningful.

So if you’re ok with "good enough", open-hearted and keen to reconnect with yourself and others in a gentle, inclusive way, I’d love to invite you to join.
